RECOMMENDATIONS.

Mr. Midwinter,

LETTERS TO MOURNERS.

Dear Sir,--It gives me pleasure to be able to recommend your excellent little book, called Christian Sympathy It is a very precious collection of consolations for the afflicted. The letters are short and simple expressions of Gospel truth, of Christian expe. rience and affectionate sympathy, penetrating directly to the place of tears, drying them up at their source, and healing the hurt that occasioned them. As such I can most freely say, "God speed" to the general diffusion of such a holy influence.

Yours, &c.

THOMAS MC AULEY.

New-York, March 3d, 1827.

I concur in the above, and add my best wishes that this little work may be the means of bringing consolation to the heart of many a mourner.
