that we have presented the meaning of our authors, in clear and intelligible English.
We hope that our efforts, to advance the cause of Biblical Literature, will meet with the approbation of the intelligent; and especially, of our brethren of the Clergy, who are aware of the importance of an enlightened study of the BIBLE. This must be regarded the foundation of all Christian Theology. If our expec. tation should not be disappointed, we intend, by the blessing of God, to proceed in our undertaking, and to publish a volume from time to time, as our other studies and avocations may allow us to prepare appropriate materials.
