Norton is seven miles from Ollerton and Mansfield, and five from Worksop. Tiresias was got by Soothsayer, out of Pledge (own sister to Pope) by Waxy, out of Prunella.-In 1819, besides smaller things, he won the Newmarket, Palace, St Leger, and Audley End stakes, at Newmarket, and the Derby stakes at Epsom.-In 1820, he won two matches, and the Jockey Club plate, B. C.-He walked over for the D. I. plate, in July, for all ages, at Newmarket; and he won the King's plate at Ipswich.In August the same year, he met with an accident, after which he never started. He stands upwards of sixteen hands high, with great bone.

TRUFFLE, at Chippenham, three miles from Newmarket, at 15gs a mare (groom's fee included). He was got by Sorcerer, out of Hornby Lass, by Buzzard, her dam, Puzzle, by Matchem-Princess, by Herod-Blank-Spectator's dam. Truffle was sent early to France, whence he has lately returned; though he had but

few mares previous to his going there, he is the sire of Abjer, Champignon, Ibla, &c.

Good accommodation for mares at 2s. per week, including hay. Corn, at the usual price. All expenses to be paid before the mares are taken away.

VAMPYRE, by Waxy, out of Vestal, at Wakefield Lodge, near
Stony Stratford, at 3gs a mare, and 10s. to the groom.
