19 Now, therefore, ye are no more strangers and foreigners. And uncircumcision, but a new creature. Galat. vi. 15. have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond [nor] free: but Christ [is] all, and in all. Coloss. iii. 10, 11. h And having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven. And you that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death. Coloss. i. 20-22. God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself. k 2 Cor. v. 19. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to [him that and I will heal him. And he shall speak peace unto the heathen. Zec. ix. 9, 10. The word which [God] sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, (he is Lord of all;) Acts x. 36. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ; as though God did beseech [you] by us, we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 2 Cor. v. 20. See on verse 13 (b) I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved. John. x. 9. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand. Rom. v. 2. In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Ephes. iii. 12. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Cor. xii. 13. Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father Rom. viii. 15. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba Father. CHAP. III. r For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ. Ephes. iv. 13, 15. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever. Psalm xciii. 5. This [is] the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain, the whole limit thereof round about [shall be] most holy. Ezek. xliii. 12. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are. 1 Cor. iii. 17. Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Who [art] thou, O great mountain? before forth the head-stone [thereof with] shoutings, [crying,] Zerubbabel [thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring Grace, grace, unto it. Zechariah. iv. 6, 7. Ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them;] and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 2 Cor. vi. 16. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Cor. iii. 16. What! know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? I Cor. vi. 19. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter. ii. 5. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1 John iii. 24. Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 1 John iv. 13. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel; For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Acts ix. 15, 16. And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. Acts xx. 22, 23. Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded [him] to be bound with two chains. Acts xxi. 33. But after two years, Porcius Festus came into Felix' room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound. Acts xxiv. 27. That I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the Gospel. For which I am an ambassador in bonds. Ephes. vi. 19, 20. Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds. Coloss. iv. 3. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner. 2 Tim. i. 8.
