speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head [even] Christ. Ephes. iv. 15. Even as Christ is the head of the church. Ephes. v. 23. And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. which worketh all in all. 1 Cor. xii. 6. He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come, in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. Ephes. iv. 10, 11, 12, 13. For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fulness dwell. Coloss. i. 19. There is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond [nor] free, but Christ [is] all, and in all. Coloss. iii. 11. rich in mercy,

The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness. Exodus xxxiv. 6. And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD: for very great are his mercies. 1 Chron. xxi. 13. Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression ofthe remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. Micah viii. 18. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Psalm ciii. 8. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Psalm li. 1. Through the tender mercy of our

I will mention the loving-kindnesses of the LORD, [and] the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed upon us, and the great goodness towards the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them, according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses. Isaiah lxiii. 7. The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, [saying,] Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah xxxi. 3. And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee, [when thou wast] in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee, [when thou wast] in thy blood, Live. Now when I passed by thee and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love. Ezekiel. xvi. 6, 8. God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish. John. iii. 16. When we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. When we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son. Rom. v. 6, 8, 10. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us. 1 John. iv. 10. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but, according to his mercy he saved us. Titus iii. 5. See on Chap. II. verse 1. (2)

Thy dead [men] shall live, [together with] my dead body shall they arise; awake and sing ye that dwell in dust, for thy dew [is as] the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Isaiah xxvi. 19. Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; John v. 25, 26. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day.
