IN RE BAUMAN.

Petition for the removal from office of Otto Bauman, supervisor of the second ward of the city of Manistee, who was charged by the board of state tax commissioners with official misconduct and wilful neglect of duty in undervaluing and neglecting to place certain taxable property on the assessment rolls as provided by law. Upon the filing of the petition the probate judge of the county of Manistee was designated as the officer before whom proofs should be taken, and a hearing was set for the 27th of November, 1900; but the proceedings were terminated by the resignation from office of Mr. Bauman on November 23, 1900.

At the instance of the board of state tax commissioners, petitions for the removal of Thomas V. Ward, supervisor of Ford River township, Delta county; John Shea, assessor of the city of Negaunee; Peter W. Hombach, assessor of the city of St. Ignace, and Franklin E. Bay, comptroller of the city of Marquette, were prepared, but were not filed.
