WALLINGFORD ROYAL BERKSHIRE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

THE July show of this society was held at the town-hall, Wallingford, on Tuesday, the 23d, and though it rained in torrents nearly the whole of the morning, it wetted rather than damped the ardour both of the amateur and the professional florist; for never since the society has been established were the productions exhibited so numerous or so superior. The Berkshire Chronicle, speaking of this show, says, "The greenhouse plants (amongst which was a superb specimen of the bletia tankervillia), the celosia coccinea, and the dahlias of W. Stephens, Esq., were greatly admired. Mr. John Allnatt's pansies remain unrivalled. The piccotees of Mr. Wilmer and Mr. R. Coster were most beautiful, as well as the carnations of Mr. Wilmer and Mr. Alloway, amongst whose was a seedling purple flake which was greatly admired. The productions of the cottagers appear to be greatly improved. The company were both numerous and fashionable, with a great preponderance of the fair sex, who were not the least daunted by the weather. The following is the list of prizes:
