Morning Hymn for Sunday

Primo die quo Trinitas

On this first day, when heaven and earth Rose at the Triune's word to birth;

The day when He, who gave us breath, Revived our souls and vanquish'd death;

Why close in sleep your languid eyes?
Shake off dull slumber, wake, arise;
And, mindful of the Prophet's voice,

Right early in our God rejoice.

That He may hear the ascending cry; That He may stretch His hand from high; That He may cleanse, and make us meet To join Him in yon heavenly seat:
