TO THE ELEVENTH EDITION.

THE sale of so many impressions of this work, justifies the Author in the hope that it may have been found of practical utility to its numerous purchasers. The information which it contains is the result of experience, --the only safe path by which one individual can attempt to guide another; and hence, if the contents of the following pages should, in cases which have not been foreseen by the Author, fail to satisfy those who may consult them under extraordinary or complicated circumstances, he at least feels convinced that they cannot mislead; as he has confined himself strictly within the limits of his practical knowledge of the subject on which he treats, and admitted nothing which he cannot vindicate by precedent and example.

To the THIRD EDITION a very important SUPPLEMENT was added, containing an elaborate FICTITIOUS WILL, which comprises Bequests of every possible variety, with the Forms required by the Legacy Office properly filled up for every Bequest. By reference to these precedents, an Executor, under any Will, may obtain the information which ought to enable him, except under very extraordinary circumstances, to fill up all the forms which are
