My Dear FRIENDS,
moved me to a distance from you, I share largely in those sorrows, with which your minds are filled on account of the death of your learned, pious, and excellent Pastor ; an event which all our Churches greatly and justly lament. When he assigned to me the work of preaching the sermon on that occasion, he was sensible my respect for you, as well as for him, would not suffer me to decline it.
