MUNICIPAL ORDINANCES

CHAPTER I.

IN RELATION TO STREETS, AVENUES, HIGHWAYS, SQUARES AND ALLEYS.

AN ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO THE PUBLIC STREETS IN THE CITY OF TROY, AND TO PRESCRIBE AND ReguLATE THE USES TO WHICH THE SAME MAY BE PUT AND TO PREVENT NUISANCES AND OBSTRUCTIONS THEREIN.

The City of Troy, in Common Council convened, does hereby ordain as follows:'

SECTION I. Short Title.-This ordinance shall known as the public street ordinance.

§ 2. Definitions. The word "street" as used in this ordinance shall be held to embrace and include all public streets, avenues, highways, squares, alleys, lanes, public grounds and sidewalks in the City of Troy. The word "person" as used herein shall be held to include and embrace the words persons, firms, company and corporations. The pronouns "his" and "him" shall be held to include and embrace the words it, her and their, and in all proper cases the singular noun shall be held to include and embrace the plural of said noun. The word "court" shall also be held to include and embrace the word magistrate.

§ 3. Building Materials in Streets.—It shall not be lawful for any person to place any building materials whatsoever upon any street in said city without permission in
