SAMPLES AND ILLUSTRATED PRICE LIST

SENT FOR SIX STAMPS.

From THE BAPTIST, June 6, 1873.

Progress in British manufacture has been nowhere more marked than in the uses to which paper has been put of late years. Mr. Edward Tann, of Holborn, is now producing in this material collars, fronts, cuffs, &c., which are wonderfully like those of the best linen, and they may be specially recommended to ministers who travel much.

From THE QUEEN NEWSPAPER, p. 327, April 26, 1873.

PAPER LINGERIE.-Mr. Edward Tann, of 308, High Holborn, has forwarded to us an assortment of specimens of what we may term "Paper Lingerie." There are collars and cuffs for ladies; collars, wristbands, and shirt-fronts for gentlemen and youths. The ladies' collars include imitation embroidery, white crimped frills, cords, tucks, coloured stripes, as well as plain stitched. The collars are varied in shape-some all-round, some with turned-down corners, and again the corners are pointed, rounded, long, short, and square. All tastes can be supplied in paper equally as in linen. Gentlemen, too, have plenty of patterns to select from. Their cuffs have button-holes, or rather stud holes, finished with linen facings; so that tearing is well-nigh impossible. So admirably does this Paper Lingerie imitate starched linen, that, unless you handle it closely, detection is out of the question; this is more especially the case with the coloured and mourning Paper Lingerie. We are not calling the attention of our readers to these as novelties, for their introduction dates already some years back; but rather, now that the touring and travelling season is at hand, when Paper Lingerie is extensively adopted, it is useful to know where to apply for good patterns. Mr. Tann keeps pace with fashions of the day, for the paper adaptations are exact copies of the linen realities.

F. S. CLEAVER'S CARBOLIC ACID & GLYCERINE SOAP,

FOR THE SKIN, ALSO A PERFECT DISINFECTANT.

The great advantages of this Soap over others designated as "Carbolic Acid Soap," are that in its manufacture none but Pure Medicinal Carbolic Acid in Combination with Glycerine is used, and entire freedom is ensured from the offensive odour of Commercial Carbolic Acid, containing Sulphur and Tarry Matters.

Eminent authorities agree as to the extremely beneficial results to health obtained by the constant use of Carbolic Acid in a very dilute form. Eruptions of the skin, profuse perspiration, and irritation arising from numerous causes, are speedily cured. Its antiseptic and purifying properties are universally acknowledged.

To render this Soap agreeable for use, it is perfumed with a small quantity of Essential Oil of Lavender.

F. S. CLEAVER also begs to recommend his celebrated
