E dialogues contained in the different manuals phrase books in Italian are confined to converons with tradesmen, enquiries after health, the ther, &c., which, though useful and necessary to known, still form but a small portion of the inmation required by those who desire to express mselves fluently and familiarly in that elegant guage. As in society conversation turns princily on the various relations of life, passing events, › current rumours and novelties of the day, disisitions on literature, the theatres, &c., the design the present little work is to enable the student to scourse on such topics in the Tuscan idiom. With is view the authoress has introduced these and milar subjects in a series of conversations, which he has endeavoured to render interesting by interpersing them with amusing anecdotes.
