It is hoped that the Ninth Edition of a Work, which from the time of its first publication has been received in the most favourable manner, will not be unacceptable to the Profession. The edition now offered to the public will be found not only to contain such cases in practice as have occurred since the publication of the last edition, but to include a variety of practical points which from accident or inadvertence had been omitted. The Index has been carefully revised, and such inaccuracies as were observed have been corrected: such as remain, the Profession are entreated to view with their accustomed candour.

Michaelmas Term, 1817.
