to almost every circumstance, public or private, in which Lord Nelson was interested. So much of the present Volume had, unfortunately, been printed before these valuable Papers reached the Editor's hands, that the earliest of the Letters to Mr. Davison which he could insert, from the autograph, is dated in May 1801.
The Letters to the late Admiral Skeffington Lutwidge, which occur in this Volume, remind the Editor that he accidentally omitted, in his former acknowledgments to Contributors, to include the name of the Admiral's nephew, Major Lutwidge: he begs leave now, however, to offer that gentleman his best thanks, and to apologize for the omission.
