The Grand Committee took a recess until 2 o'clock P. M., and on reassembling the following report was presented, viz.:

REPORT.

The committee appointed to count the votes for general officers beg leave to submit the following report:

That the whole number of electors voting for governor is 41,823.

That 1,386 electors voted for Franklin E. Burton of Providence.

That 13,675 electors voted for Daniel T. Church of Tiverton.

That 24,309 electors voted for Elisha Dyer of Providence.

That 357 electors voted for John Hale Larry of Providence.

That 2,096 electors voted for Thomas H. Peabody of Westerly.

They further report that Elisha Dyer of Providence is elected governor by a plurality of 10,634 votes. That the whole number of electors voting for lieutenant-governor is 41,003.

That 13,460 electors voted for Fayette E. Bartlett of Burrillville.

That 478 electors voted for Henry A. Burlingame of Pawtucket.

That 2,587 electors voted Fred T. Jencks of Barrington.

That 1,375 electors voted for Bernard J. Murray of Providence.

That 23,103 electors voted for Aram J. Pothier of Woonsocket.

They further report that Aram J. Pothier of Woonsocket is elected lieutenant-governor by a plurality of 9,643 votes.

That the whole number of electors voting for secre tary of state is 40,844.

That 24,483 electors voted for Charles P. Bennett of Providence.

That 378 electors voted for George D. Briggs of Providence.

That 1,220 electors voted for James Jefferson of Johnston.

That 12,451 electors voted for Miles A. McNamee of Providence.

That 2,312 electors voted for Frank B. Smith of Coventry.

They further report that Charles P. Bennett of Providence is elected secretary of state by a plurality of 12,032 votes.

That the whole number of electors voting for attor ney general is 40,739.

That 13,656 electors voted for George T. Brown of Providence.

That 1,440 electors voted for John Devlin of Providence.

That 22,836 electors voted for Willard B. Tanner of Providence.

That 2,807 electors voted for James A. Williams of Providence.

They further report that Willard B. Tanner of Providence is elected attorney general by a plurality

of 9,180.

That the whole number of electors voting for gen eral treasurer is 40,798.

That 24,292 electors voted for Samuel Clark of Lincoln.

That 1,284 electors voted for Frederick Frank of Providence.

That 325 electors voted for William F. Graham of

South Kingstown.

That 2,068 electors voted for Bernon E. Helme of South Kingstown.

That 12,829 electors voted for Edmund Walker of South Kingstown.

They further report that Samuel Clark of Lincoln is elected general treasurer by a plurality of 11,463

votes.

The committee, in conformity with their report, recommend the passage of the following resolution:

Resolved, That the following named persons be, and they are hereby, declared elected to the following offices for the ensuing year:

Elisha Dyer, of Providence, Governor; Aram J. Pothier, of Woonsocket, Lieutenant Governor; Charles P. Bennett, of Providence, Secretary of State; Willard B. Tanner, of Providence, Attorney General ; Samuel Clark, of Lincoln, General Treasurer.

The foregoing report was read, received and the accompanying resolution adopted.

The oath of office was administered to the governor and lieutenant governor by the secretary of state, and the governor next administered the oath of office to the secretary of state, the attorney general and the general treasurer.

Proclamation of the several officers elected was made in accordance with ancient usage.
