"WYTNESSETHE, that whereas the said baronie of Donmore, as well by ancient division as by late inquisition, contains 183 q", each q' containing 120 acres, viz. FIRSTE, there is a quantity of land called the third of Walter Brymigham's cept, 70 q; whereof is said to belong to the bishoprick of Clonmacknoyse 4 q", to the archbishoprick of Tweame 6 qr, to the dean and parish of Tweame 5 q', and to her Majesty, in right of the abbey of Killerenade as is said, II q"-also Tohe-Tirlagh-vaughan, 43 q", whereof belong to Her Majesty, in right of the Trynitye abbey of Tweame as is said, 4 q; and also to Her Majesty in right of the abbey of S' John of Tweame, 3 q-also Tohe-Downmore, 63 q"; all which, in the whole barony of Donamore aforesaid, cometh to the number of 183 quarters.

The aforesaid lords, &c. doe covenant to auns were & beare 2 good hable horsemen and 4 footmen well armed, with carriage and victualls, to all hostings, roods and journyes within Connaught and Thomond; and I good hable horseman and 2 footmen well armed, to all generall hostings proclaymed in this realme.

"It is agreed that the lord baron of Athenry shall have 39 q" free, as a demayne to his manors or castells of Downmore and Turlaghvaghan, and a yearlie rent-chardge of 5 ster. out of everie q' of the residue of all said q".

"That the earle of Clanrickard shall have the abbey of Kilcraneda, and 8 q′′ thereto adjoyning, free.

"And wheare the manor of Feartymore is said to consist of 34 q", that Rob' Fowell, gen. shall have the said manor and 6 q" free.

"That Tybott bwy M Johnyne shall have the castell of Toberkeoghe, and 4 q" adjoyning same, free. And that they shall all hold of the Queen, as of her castell or manor of Lyssekenanan within the aforesaid county of Galway. The "Boundaries of Mayo" have been found as follows, by an Inquisition taken at the abbye of

barronie of Crosbohine alias Clanmorys, there is a quantity of land called the Brey, consisting of 7 q-alsoe Derowle, 14 q"—the Morning, 12 q-Ballycowle & Castlegare, 9 q′′—Caslane Enlagh-Karowe, 13 q"-Ballekenknavy, 12 q′′-Castellkeyle, 3 q"-Castell Me Gerralt, 4 q"-Down m° nynye and Castellreaghe, 22 q"--Carrobege,

of Mayo consisteth of ten baronies, viz. Killmean, Rosse, Murske, Boresowle, Irrus, Tyrawly, Galleng, Costello, Clanmorrice, and Kerra.-That the same county is bounded with the county of Galwaye on the sowthe and sowthe west. Firste the barony of Kilmean doth bound with the lord Birmingham countrye at Athsollus, in the east of Ballycheraghe, from thence to the forde of Ardower, and from thence the bogg called Clayssebrydd to the river of Shrower, and from thence to Cloghane Corrigg in the east of Kynlagh, from thence to the ford of Athleaagh, and from thence the river of Moyne to Loghcorbe, which logh doth bounde the said county to the river of Fallmer: and from thence to the mountayne of Mamenne, and thence the great mountayne to the river of Loghtafaghan, which river doth extend to the sea called Kellayle, and from thence to the rocke called Carrigcolna on the sow the side of the black rocke called Inish bo fine: and so the mayne ocean sea on the west, northweast, and north, boundinge thence the baronies of Murske, Borresowle, Irrus, and Tyrawly, to the river of Moye, and from that river to the river of Bonryowe right agaynste Belleeke, which river is on the northe of Ardnerie, and from that river to the bogg of Lahagh in Tyowe on the sowth of Ballycotle, and from thence, the west and of the mountayne of Lynedane, to Mullycowes in Belclare in O'Hira reogh's countrie, in the county of Sligo: from thence to Bellahy mearing between the counties of Mayo and Sligo, from thence to Srowan-even-lode, in the north side of Ballmilen, and from thence to Bellanefohy on the north side of Killcolman in Costallo, from thence to Clownagonain neer Bungare in the county of Rosscommon: from thence to Bellamenda on the easte of the monastery of Urlare in Costello, from thence to Curragh M Eneanta nier

Castenergh in the county of Rosscommon, from thence to the Legan, Killtullagh in Sillerown in the county of Roscommon aforesaid, from thence to the forde of Cowlenedreny in Sillerown, in the county of Roscommon aforesaid, from thence to the pass of Bellagh-ne-leek len in Ermylton in the lord Bertningham his country, from thence to the forde of Athesollus, where the aforesaid mearing dyd begynn

"Thes are the uttermost boundes of the county of Mayo on all sides. And whatsoever is conteyned within the aforesaid boundes of the county of Mayo, wee finde that the barrony of Kilmayne conteyneth 365 q, whereof are of the chardgeable q" inhabitted 81 q, the rest free and waste. The barony of Rosse consistethe of 100 qrs, but how it is inhabitted we know not. The barony of Burres-owle consisteth of 131 qrs, whereof 32 are inhabitted of the chardgeable land, the rest free and waste. The barony of Murske consisteth of 80 q", whereof 36 are inhabitted, the rest waste. The barony of Irisse conteyneth 40 q%, whereof of the chargeable inhabitted 4, the rest free and waste. The barony of Gallen conteyneth 183 q, whereof are of the chardgable inhabitted 40 q", the rest free and waste. The barony of Tyerauly consisteth of 293 q', whereof are inhabitted 52 q, the rest free and waste. The barony of Clanmorishe consisteth of 240 q", whereof are inhabitted of the chardgeable lands 82 q", the rest free and waste. By an Inquisition presented unto us, there are of quarters in the barony of Costello 63 q'; yet wee fynde that it is commonly heald to conteyne 83 q, whereof of the chardgeable q" are inhabitted 47, the rest waste. In the barronie of Kilmeane there is a quantity of land called Connyckenecowlye, 128 q", whereof belongeth to William Bourke McShane and his freeholders, 80 qr, and to Edmond Bourke Mc Thomas Evagherye and his followers, 48 q-alsoe Moynter-Creaghane, 22 q”— Eyghterhyre, 80 qr-Loughmaske, 12 q-Ballynrobae, 4 qr-Ballynclontye, 4 q”— Kenlaghe, 10 q-also belonging to the archbishopricke of Tweame, 22 q"-to the Queen in right of the abbey of Conge, 16 q"-also I q' in right of the abbey of Ballynrobae also Moyne, 2 q"-Lackfynne, 2 q-also 2 q" belonging to her Mat' in right of the nunrye of Innyshmeane and Ballyncaloe-also Dowrishe, 2 q". The whole in that barony cometh to 321 q". In the barronie of Muryske, in the Owles, there is a quantity of land called Lorge owle O'Mayle, 36 q"-Ilane-ne Moghea, 36 q”—also belonging to the archbishoprick of Tweame, 7 q”—and I q' belonging to her Ma' in right of the abbey of Muryske, in all 80 qr. In the barronie of Burreshowle there is a quantity of land called the sept of Clanphillypins, consisting of 24 q—the cepte of Mc Tybbot 16 q"-Termonaghegowre 24 q", belonging to the archbishoppe of Tweame-4 q' belonging to her Ma" in right of the abbey of Ballyntober-alsoe these parcells of land followinge, belonging as is said to the erle of Ormonde, viz. In the barony of Moyne alias Tyrawly, there is a quantity of land called the cowrine of Ballynewe, alias the Newtowne, 40 q"-cowryne ne Roppae, 23 q′′cowryne Bealicke, 48 q"-Barred's cowryne, 18 q"-Toe Castellreoghe, 16 q”—The Laggan and the Clandonyles, 36 q′′- Toe Keherrenan, 18 q"-Toe Boawynyne and Glanhosty, 27 q”—Ardenery, 4 q′′, whereof 2 q" belong to the bishoprick of Killalac-In the said barony belong to the bishopricke of Killalae 39 q"-also the Grange of the Newtowne, 4 q', belonging to her Ma" in right of the abbey of Knockmoy-also belonging as is said to the dean and chaunter of Killalae, 2 q”—also belonging to the Queen in right of the abbey of Ravrana, 2 q"—which in the whole within that barony cometh to 287 q". In the barronie of Burreskarre alias Kerrae, there is a q' of land called cowryne Downmonye, 21 q"-cowryne Ballincarra, 22 q"-cowryne Moyonylie, 21 q"-cowryne Kentorke, 25 q"-cowryne Ffartry and Castellkerrane, 22 q"-the half cowryne of Clonyne, 10 q-the half cowryne of Lortane, 10 qr-Sleight Ulicke Bourke, and Sleight Davy duff Bourke, consisting of 21 q"-the cowryne of Torlaghe, 21 q"-the cowryne of Castell-Barrye, 21 q"Slewoney, 24 q- Drom and Ballyvorny, 8 q"-Ballintobber, 8 q", belonging to the Queen in right of the abbey of Ballyntobber-Levally ne tavese, 8 q"-Clondowane, 2 q-Kearoweenny, 4 q"--Ballyovey, 4 q", belonging to the archbishoprick of Tweame, which in the whole in that barronie cometh to 253 q". In the barronie of Bellalahin alias Gallen, there is a quarter of land called Clane-Stephen, 16 q”—Clanmanny, 16 q"-Tom Boycolloe, 16 q”—Toe Newcastell, 16 q"-Cawlekearnye and Tom Bellaghaghe, 64 q”—Keanaufe and Killedane, 6 q′′, belonging to the bishoprick of Achonry-also Bellalahen, 16 q-also belonging to the Queen in right of the abbey of Strade, 4 q"-which in the whole of that barronie cometh to 180 q". All which, being drawn into one totall, cometh to the aforesaid nomber of 1448} q′′; whereof belong to the Queen 58 q", to the lords spiritual 1514 q", and to the earl of Ormond 40 q”.

The said lords chieftains & acknowledging the manifold benefits and easements they find in possessing of their lands and goods, since the peaceable government of the said lord Deputie, and the just dealings of Sir Richard Binghame, Knt. do graunt to the Queenes most excellent Majesty her heires and successors for ever, one yearlie rent-chardge
