7. When sentence is given upon him, let him be condemned; and let his cry for mercy be of no effect.

8. Let his days be few and another take his office. 9. Let his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.

10. Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg; and be caft out from their defolate habitations.

II. Let the extortioner enfnare all that he hath, and the stranger spoil his labour.

12. Let there be none to extend mercy to him; neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

13. Let his pofterity be cut off, and in the generation following let their name be blotted out. 14. Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord, and let not the fin of his mother be done away.

15. Let them be continually before the Lord, that he may cut off their memory from the earth. 16. Because he remembered not to fhew mercy, but perfecuted the needy man; and the broken in heart, to flay him.

17. As he loved curfing, fo let it come upon him; as he delighted not in bleffing, fo let it be far from him.

18. As he clothed himself with curfing as with

a garment, fo let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

19. Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for the girdle wherewith he is continually girded.

20. This is the reward of mine adverfaries from the Lord, and of them that speak evil against my foul.

21. But deal thou with me, O Lord God, according unto thy name; because thy mercy is good, deliver me.

22. For I am helpless and afflicted, my heart is wounded within me.

23. I am departing like a shadow that declineth, I am driven here and there like the locuft.

24. My knees are weak with fafting, and my flesh faileth of fatnefs.

25. I am also become a reproach unto them ; when they look upon me they shake their head,

26. Help me, O Lord my God, Oh fave me according to thy mercy :

27. That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, haft done it.

28. They fhall curfe, but blefs thou; when they arise against me they shall be ashamed; but thy fervant shall rejoice.

29. Mine adverfaries fhall be clothed with shame; and they fhall cover themselves with their own confufion, as with a mantle.

30. I will greatly celebrate the Lord with my mouth, and I will praise him among the multitudes.

31. For he fhall ftand at the right hand of the wretched man, to fave him from them that judge his life.
