AMENDMENTS.

ART. II, Sec. 1, adopted April 15, 1882.—After the word "corresponding" add the words "and Reporting."

ART. III, Sec. 5, adopted April 15, 1882.-Add subsection 5, title Reporting Secretary:

The Reporting Secretary shall take the titles of all papers read and cases related before the Faculty, and notes of all discussions upon the same. He shall request the speakers to reduce their remarks to writing, and shall submit them to the Publication Committee.

ART. III, Sec. 8, adopted April 12, 1879.-Add after the words "worthy of membership":

It shall also be the duty of the Board at each annual meeting to read to the Faculty the names of all recommended for membership, and also to have all such names posted in the hall of the Faculty. These names shall be voted upon by ballot the day after they are thus announced.

It shall also be the duty of the Board to have the names of all candidates to be elected at any special meeting of the Faculty, printed on the card or circular calling such special meeting.

ART. IV, Sec. 1, adopted April 12, 1879.-Change "two-thirds" to four-fifths.

ART. IV, Sec. 1, adopted February 28, 1878.-He shall be exempt from all dues during the first fiscal year of his membership.

ART. V, Sec. 1, adopted October 14, 1879; amended April 15, 1882. Ophthalmology, Otology and Laryngology.

ART. VI, Sec. 2, adopted April 15, 1882.-In fourth line, after the word "papers" add "and discussions."

ART. VI, Sec. 4, adopted April 13, 1880.-Change "decide upon " to "examine into."

ART. VIII, Sec. 1, adopted April 12, 1879.-Change 7th line to read:

"The earliest meeting except memorial meetings."

ART. VIII, Sec. 1, adopted April 16, 1881.-Strike out after "charges" in first line the words "by this Committee," and add to end of section as follows:

"Such sentence of reprimand, suspension or expulsion shall be administered by the President in the presence of the Faculty, and shall be published in the Transactions."

ART. VIII, Sec. 1, adopted April 16, 1881.-At end of Sec. 1 add as follows:

"No member against whom charges are pending shall have the right to resign his membership without express permission of the Faculty."

ART. IX, adopted April 15, 1882.-Strike out the word "second" and insert "fourth."

ART. X, adopted April 12, 1882.-In 5th line read eight dollars, instead of five dollars; and in 5th line, after the word "annually," add, "Of which four dollars shall be appropriated to the Library Committee." In 6th line, after the word "annually," add the words, "Of which two dollars shall be appropriated to the Library Committee."

ART. XI.-The whole article changed October 14, 1879, to read as follows:

"All volunteer papers shall be sent to the Executive Committee, through the Assistant Secretary, on or before the first day of the session of the Faculty. The Executive Committee shall then determine whether such papers may be read before the Faculty, and it shall also assign the order in which they shall be read."

Resolution affecting By-Laws, adopted April 16, 1880:

Every paper read before the Faculty at its annual convention shall be submitted for discussion, and no member shall be privileged to occupy more time than five minutes; and, further, the general discussion of a paper shall be limited to thirty minutes, unless otherwise ordered by vote of the Faculty.
