The author of this work, the Rev. Canon NEWLING, was indefatigable in his researches among all authors from whom any information on this subject could be gained. At the beginning of the MS. he gives a list of the rare works he has consulted, such as the "Dictionarium Anglo. Brit. Gwilym, Salisburi 1547, Dictionnaire Celtique de Bullet, &c. &c. Below I give a few comparisons from this unpublished and valuable Manuscript, which would have proved extremely useful to Bopp and Zeuss:
