AN ACT to amend sections fifteen, seventeen and eighteen of act two hundred seventy-five of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred eleven, as amended by act one hundred sixtyseven of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred thirteen, entitled "An act to provide for the protection of game and birds, to regulate the taking, possession, use and transportation of the same, to prohibit the sale thereof, to regulate the manner of hunting, pursuing and killing game or birds, to provide a penalty for the violation of any of the provisions of this act, and to repeal inconsistent acts and parts of acts."

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. Sections fifteen, seventeen and eighteen of act two hundred seventy-five of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred eleven, as amended by act one hundred sixty-seven of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred thirteen, entitled "An act to provide for the protection of game and birds, to regulate the taking, possession, use and transportation of the same, to prohibit the sale thereof, to regulate the manner of hunting, pursuing and killing game or birds, to provide a penalty for the violation of any of the provisions of this act, and to repeal inconsistent acts and parts of acts," are hereby amended to read as follows:

SEC. 15. No person or persons shall at any time make use of any pit, pitfall, deadfall, scaffold, cage, snare, trap, net, baited hook, or any similar device, or any drug, poison, chemical or explosive for the purpose of injuring, capturing or killing any birds or animals protected by the laws of this State, nor shall any person at any time or in any manner whatever, injure, destroy or rob the eggs of any bird protected by the laws of this State, or molest, harass or annoy such birds upon their nests, except as herein provided: Provided, however, That said provision shall not prohibit the trapping of fur bearing animals. No person shall hunt, pursue, kill, capture or attempt to hunt, pursue, kill or capture at any time or in any manner, any deer when it is in the red coat, or fawn in the spotted coat, or have in possession the skin of such deer or fawn in the red or spotted coat, nor shall any person hunt, pursue, kill or capture, or attempt to hunt, pursue, kill or capture any deer while it is in the water. No person shall make use of any artificial light in hunting, pursuing, capturing or killing deer, or in attempting to hunt, pursue, capture or kill any deer, and the wearing or having such light on the head or in possession shall be deemed a violation of this section. No person or persons shall make use of a dog in hunting, pursuing or killing deer; the presence of such a dog in the woods, hunting camp, logging camp, or a club house during the deer hunting season, shall be prima.

AN ACT to provide for an additional appropriation from the general fund in the State treasury for the purpose of carrying into effect the terms of act number one hundred sixtyfive of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred thirteen, entitled "An act to provide for the compilation and publication of a general alphabetical index of the publication 'A record of Michigan soldiers and sailors in the War of the Rebellion, eighteen hundred sixty-one to eighteen hundred sixty-five,' and for the distribution of such index and the distribution of the remaining volumes of said publication now on hand, in library sets, to public libraries for the convenient reference of the public, to make an appropriation therefor, and to provide a tax to meet the same," to provide the manner of payment thereof and to provide a tax to meet said appropriation.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. The sum of two thousand five hundred dollars is hereby appropriated out of the general fund in the State treasury for the purpose of compiling, publishing and distributing a general alphabetical index of all the names mentioned in the different volumes constituting the published record of the "Record of Michigan soldiers and sailors in the War of the Rebellion, eighteen hundred sixty-one to eighteen hundred sixty-five," as provided for in act number one hundred forty-seven of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred three; said sum of two thousand five hundred dollars to be in addition to the amount appropriated, and to be expended for the purposes set forth in act one hundred sixty-five of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred thirteen.

SEC. 2. The sum appropriated by this act shall be paid out of the general fund in the State treasury, upon warrants issued by the Auditor General on presentation of vouchers ap

proved by the Secretary of State and audited by the Board of State Auditors.

SEC. 3. The Auditor General is hereby authorized and Tax clause. directed to incorporate in the State tax for the year nineteen hundred fifteen the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars, which sum, when collected, shall be credited to the general fund of the State treasury to reimburse the same for the moneys hereby appropriated.

This act is ordered to take immediate effect.

AN ACT making appropriations for the State Board of Fish Commissioners for current expenses and for building and special purposes for the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred sixteen and June thirty, nineteen hundred seventeen, and to provide a tax to meet the same.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

There is hereby appropriated for the State Appropriation Board of Fish Commissioners on account of current expenses, expenses. for the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred sixteen, the sum of forty-six thousand three hundred sixteen dollars, and for the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred seventeen, the sum of forty-four thousand six hundred forty-one dollars, of which amounts the State Board of Fish Commissioners is authorized and directed to expend the sum of not to exceed five thousand dollars in each fiscal year for the operation and maintenance of the fish hatchery owned by the Grayling fish hatchery club and located at Grayling, Michigan: Provided, That not more than five hundred Proviso, dollars may be expended by said board for traveling and inci- traveling dental expenses outside of the State in each year, on official business.
