Nov. 17. Tuesday, about twelve o'clock, the Deputies appointed in the feveral counties throughout this ftate, to folicit legiflative remedy for the late outrage faid to have been committed on the rights of fuffrage, by a majority of the late canvafling committee, affembled at the City Tavern, and from thence formed a proceffion of upwards of eighty perfons to the Affembly Chamber.-At the bar of the house they were met by Mr. Hoffman, a member from the city and county of New-York, who received from the Chairman of each

deputation, their refpective Memorials, beginning with the county of Otfego. Mr. Hoffman prefented the petitions to the Speaker, which, after being read, were committed to a committee of the whole house, and made the order of the day for Thursday the 22d inftant.

Nov. 20. The Secretary of war has notified the Houfe of Reprefentatives of the United States, that he has received a letter from James Seagrove, commiffioner of Indian affairs from the United States to the Creek Nation, which he has been directed by the Prefident, to lay before the houfe. This letter is dated St. Mary's, 28th October, 1792, and contains information refpecting the dif pofition of the Creek Nation towards the United States. Mr. Seagrove, after having reference to his former letters, per the floop Polly, via Savanaah, declares his opinion, that the appearances of the temper of the Creeks wear a favourable afpect to

ward the United States, and that chief men of that nation were on the way to St. Mary's, where he exped them to arrive within four days fam the date of his letter.

The Editors have to acknowledge the receipt of fevera Effays; fome of which, but for their length, would hav had a place in this number; but as this concludes a volume they did not think it proper to infert any which required to be continued-They will therefore be duly noticed next

month.

Our Correfpondents will please to recollect, that a Letter-Box for the reception of communications intended for the New-York Magazine, is placed in an eligible fitua tion in front of the house where it is publifhed; they will likewife recollect, that letters fent through the Poft-Office are attended with confiderable expence; and as the one mode of communication is full as eafy as the other, 'tis hoped for the future those who prefer the Poft-Office to our Box, will be good enough to pay the postage that may become due on their favours.
