COMPOUND COMMINUTED FRACTURE

"Convict's right leg was caught in car wheel. All the flesh
from knee down was torn off. Foot was badly fractured. Bone
protruded about four inches. Was obliged to cut out about two and
one-half inches of the bone. To save the man's life I advised ampu-
tatien. Patient objected, and, as I had your sample of Vitogen with
me I dusted it all over the wound. In four days I cleaned the wound
thoroughly and again applied Vitogen. No fever; appetite good.
In four days again went through the same operation. Ordered four
ounces of Vitogen and with it entirely healed the wound, covered
the bone with new flesh and saved the leg. Patient never complained
of pain. I have never seen the equal of Vitogen. Will never use any
