The results, brought together on page 14, will be seen to differ in several particulars from those in the Recapitulation, which is subjoined to the following Tables. They have been varied by official returns received since the Report was prepared.

It is a subject worthy of some attention, whether prayer has that prominent place in our religious exercises, and receives daily, that portion of our time, which the importance of the subject demands. If one duty is insisted on in the word of God more than any other, it is the duty of prayer. And if one duty is in more danger of being neglected than any other, it is the duty of prayer.

Restraining prayer, we cease to fight,

Prayer makes the Christian's armor bright.
Wrestling prayer can wonders do,
Bring relief in deepest straits;
Prayer can force a passage through
Iron bars and brazen gates.
