WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8, 1873.

The Twenty-Sixth Annual Session of the Legislature of the State of Wisconsin, began at Madison, the Capitol of said State, the second Wednesdry, being the 8th day of January, 1873.

Pursuant to law, at 12 M. of said day, the Senate was called to order by the Lieutenant Governor, and the roll of Senators holding over from 1872 was called by J. H. Waggoner, Chief Clerk of the last session, and the following Senators, from their respective districts, appeared and took their seats:

4th district, William Nelson.
6th district, John L. Mitchell.
Sth district, Samuel Pratt.
10th district, Wm. Blair.
12th district, Orrin Bacon.
14th district, John B. Quimby.
16th district, J. C. Holloway.

22d district, George Kreiss.
24th district, Jos. E. Irish.
26th district, R. E. Davis.
28th district, Henry L. Eaton.

32d district, Orlando Brown.

The list of Senators elected at the General Election held in the State of Wisconsin on the 5th day of November, 1872, together with the certificate of the Secretary of State as follows,
