THE Author having reason to believe that the Reading of one of his Practical and Familiar Sermons forms, in some Families, a part of their domestic religious Exercises on the Sunday Evening, has inserted, in the present Volume, such a number of Sermons, as together, with those contained in the preceding Volumes, will constitute a regular course of reading for two complete years. He has also affixed to the present volume a general Table of Reference to the whole five volumes, pointing out such of the Discourses, as, either from the subject discussed in them, or from some circumstances

connected with the particular services of the Church, are more immediately adapted to certain Seasons, or Sundays. He takes this opportunity of acknowledging, with humble and devout thankfulness, that measure of the Divine Blessing, which seems to have attended the Volumes already published; and earnestly prays for a continuance of the same blessing on the present Publication.
