When JESUS had faid these things, He was troubled in fpirit; and He protefted and said, Verily, verily I fay to you, One of you, who eats with Me, fhall betray Me. Then the Difciples Jookt one on another, doubting of whom He fpake: and being exceeding forrowfull, they began every of them one to say to Him, one by one Lord is it I? And He anfwering faid to them, one of the twelve that dips his hand with Me in the difh, he fhall betray Me. The Son of Man indeed goes as it is written of Him: but, wo to that man by whom the Son of Man fhall be betrayed, it had been good for him if he had never been born. Then Judas. let him become as the lefs, and he that is cheif, as he that ferves. For, whether is great, he that fits at the table, or he that minifters? Is not he that fits? But I am in the midst of you,as he that ministers. You are they who have continued with Me in my temptations: and I dispose to you a Kingdom, as my Father has difpos'd to Me; that you may eat and drink upon my table in my Kingdom, and fit on Thrones judging the twelve Tribes of Ifrael.

Thus, while we live we are never fafe and therefore while we live we Should never be secure: if we aspire to honour, we know 'tis vain, if we affect authority, we know 'tis troublefom. +0 may the holy ambition of being high in Heaven extinguish all esteem of these low things here.
