And, as He was fpeaking, a certain Pharifee befought Him to dine with him: and He went in, and fat down to meat. And, the Pharifee began to think within himself, and fay, why did he not walh before dinner? And, our Lord faid to him, You Pharifees, now, make clean the out fide of the cup and Platter; but your inward part is full of rapine, ini quity and uncleannefs. Fools, did not he, who made that which is without, make that which ir within allo? Blind Pharifee, cleanse first the infide of the cup and difh, that the outfide roo may become clean. But yet, give alms of fuch as you have; and, behold, all things are clean to you. Wo to you Pharifees; for, you tithe Mint and Rue, and all manner of Herbs, and pafs over the weightier things of the Law, Judgment and Mercy and Faith, and the love of God: these ought you to have done; and not left the other undone. Wo to you, Pharifees; for, you love the firft Chairs in the Synagogue, aud alutations in the Market-place. Wo to you Scribes and Pharifees, Hypocrites: for, you devour Widows hotfes, praying long prayers; therefore fhall you receive the greater judgment, Wo to you Seribes and Pharifees, Hypocrites; for, you compafs Sea and Land to gain one Profelite; and when he is gain'd, you make him the child of Hell doubly more then your felves. Wo to you; for, you are as Graves that appear not, and they who walk over them are not aware of M.4 them.
