A Pfalm of David, wherein the People are taught to pray for his good Succefs. The occafion of compofing it was probably the Invafion mentioned, 2 Sam. x. 6, 8.

A Pfalm of David, in which the People are taught to thank God for the great Victory and Succefs which God had given to David: And let it be remembred, that thefe Conquests of David were Types of that greater Villory of Chrift over the Devil, &c. Our Tranflators took it principally to be understood of Chrift, and therefore turn it, ver. 3, 5, 6. [Thou fhalt] as if it were hereafter to be compleated in Chrift, and were not fulfilled in David, when this Pfalm was compofed; and in thus Tranflating they exactly follow the Hebrew.
