The Following Reasons

Why a combined PORTABLE battery should never be purchased, are quoted from

a lecture of

PROFESSOR A. L. RANNEY, M. D.,

OF NEW YORK CITY.

(1) If either is out of repair you are deprived of the use of both. (2) More costly to manufacture.

(3) More bulky to carry.

(4) Galvanic battery is used more in office and is heaviest to carry.

(5) If batteries are separate, they can be used at the same time on two different patients.

(6) Faradic battery is mostly used for primary examinations of patients.

LOUISVILLE, KY., March 29, 1886. Gentlemen:-I have been prescribing the Syrup of Hypophosphites and Wine of Coca prepared by your firm, with uniformly good result. Both are elegant preparations. As a stimulant in cases of Exhaustion, from whatever cause arising, and as an antidote to the evil effects of Opium, your Wine of. Cocoa has proven most serviceable. Your Syrup of the Hypophosphites presents a combination of constructive tonics and alteratives massed together in palatable form and in a beautiful solution, indicative of unsurpassed Pharmaceutical Art. I have used the latter in the debi.ity of the old and young, with nurs ing mothers, and with those of strumous and tubercular tendencies, with most gratifying effects. COLEMAN ROGERS, M. D. MESSES. R. A. ROBINSON & Co. LOUISVILLE, KY., April 1, 1886. Gentlemen:-For a number of months I have been prescribing your "Syrup of Hypophosphites" and have a so been employing your "Wine of Coca" since it was placed before the profession. In my prescriptions I have specified"R. A. Robinson & Co." because of my confidence in the integrity of the manufacturers. After having observed the effects of the above preparations on a large number or patients, I am convinced that no similar mixtures, now upon the market, are so elegant and palatable, and at the same time so invariable and accurate in composition. Respectfully, your obedient servant,

LOUISVILLE, KY., April 16, 1886.

Dear Sirs:-It gives me pleasure to to state that I have used your preparations of Hypophophites and Wine Coca, with most excellent results. The Wine Coca I used in a case of Exophthalmic Goitre. The patient has been bed-ridden for three years and it has given her more comfort than any thing she has taken and enables her to go about her room with comparative ease. The reputation of your house gives assurance that these valuable remedies are what they are represented to be and I can recommend them both. Yours truly, T. P. SATTERWHITE. MESSES. R. A. ROBINSON & Co. Sirs:-I deem the following statement due you. Having been a sufferer from Nervous headache for over forty years, at the suggestion of your Agent, who called upon me in June, last, with some of your samples. I was induced to try your Wine Coca for my head. Since that time I have been taking one tablespoonful each day, and have not, since I commenced the use of it, been troubled with the Headache. I have not been free from it in that length of time in twenty years. I think it will effect a permanent cure. Having tried before nearly every remedy I could hear of, this is the first one that has given me any relief. Yours respectfully, (Signed) A. J. ÄXTELL, M. D.
