HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY,
Monday, December 6th, 1869.
Pursuant to law, the House was called to order by John A. Eagan, Esq., Chief Clerk of the last session.
The roll of counties was called, and the following gentlemen appeared and were duly qualified (the oath being administered by the Hon. Royal T. Sprague, Associate Judge of the Supreme Court), and took their seats as members of the Assembly, as follows:
Alameda-E. D. Lewelling, Daniel Inman.
Placer-H. M. Power, M. Waldron.
Sacramento-M. S. Horan, R. D. Stephens, J. F. Freeman, John A.
San Bernardino-J. W. Satterwhite.
San Francisco-E. A. Rockwell, Joseph Naphtaly, John C. Griswold,
San Joaquin-Chas. G. Hubner, J. S. Thurston.
Resolved, That the Assembly do now proceed to the election of its officers, in the following order:
Mr. Biggs moved to lay on the table--pending which motion, at twelve o'clock and fifty minutes, on motion of Mr. Satterwhite, the House adjourned uptil Tuesday, the seventh instant, at eleven o'clock A. M.

The House met pursuant to adjournment.
W. S. Byrre, Assistant Clerk of the last session, called the House to order.
Prayer by the Rev. T. H. B. Anderson.
Resolved, That the standing rules of last session, until changed, shall govern this House.
Resolved, That the Assembly now proceed to the election of Speaker, Speaker pro tem., Chief Clerk and Sergeant-at-Arms, in the order stated.
