APPENDIX X.

DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTIES COMPOSING THE THIELLS SITE.

1. Springstead Property:

Within 800 feet of Thiells Station. Includes a well-built brick house of seven rooms, in good order; a small frame office, a large frame barn, a cottage of five rooms, and 21 acres of good meadow land with one orchard.

2. Knapp Property:

Consists of a farm of 129 acres, nearly all under excellent cultivation. Contains good building sites. A private road runs from east to west through the property. Old homestead of 10 rooms, large frame barn and a tenant's cottage.

3. Burger Property:

Includes a large house of 22 rooms in fair condition. It has been used as a summer boarding house. Fine shade trees and lawn about the house. There is a large barn, a wagon house, and an orchard. Of the 66 acres in the property about 50 acres are tillable.

4. Coe Property:

Consists of an old-fashioned frame house of 9 rooms in fair condition, well situated on high ground with lawns, shade trees and flower beds; a large and well built brick stable with living rooms for coachman and space for 6 wagons, 5 horses and 10 tons of hay; a frame barn and two orchards. There are 58 acres in the property, which adjoins the pond and falls on the Fowler property. It has some good building sites.

5. Fowler Property:

On the property is a frame house containing 17 rooms besides diningroom, hall and attic. It has been used as a boarding house. There are good lawns and shade trees, some fruit trees and a stream which runs through the property. The farm contains about 75 acres, mostly tillable, with a large pond and dam, which at one time was used to supply power to a mill situated on the property. A supply of ice can be secured from the pond.

6. Beach Property:

The house is an old-fashioned frame building, brick filled, with 10 rooms, 2 open fireplaces and bathroom. The interior of the house has been remodelled and decorated. There is a large, well built barn in good condition and a tenant house. The property contains 162 acres, of which about 100 acres are tillable.

7. Requa Property:

A small 5 room frame cottage, in poor condition on a plot of ground of about an acre. In its present condition the property is unsightly and objectionable. The building should be removed.

8. Pinaud Property:

This parcel consists of a 9 room frame house, a barn and about 59 acres of land, much of it tillable, although a considerable part has not been
