SENATE CHAMBER, } CITY OF DES MOINES, January 9th, 1860. In pursuance of the provisions of the Constitution of the State, the Senate convened and was called to order at 2 o'clock, P. M., by Lieut. Gov. Faville. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Bird. On motion of Mr. Saunders of Henry, J. S. Dimmitt of Jones was chosen Secretary, pro tem. Upon motion of Mr. Rankin of Lee, the President proceeded to appoint a committee on credentials, which committee was composed of Messrs. Rankin, Anderson, Wilson of Dubuque, Mann and Sherradden.
