It will be found on examining the foregoing abstract, that in Callaway and Pulaski counties, the ages of free white persons are not given-this could not be done, as the Sheriffs blended the number of males and females; but by comparing the total white population with other counties, the free white males in Callaway, may be set down at 3700, and in Pulaski at 1740.

I have appended to the counties that were in existence in 1832, the total population in each, as shown by the census of that year. In 1821, the total population of our State was 70,467; in 1824, it was 80,677; in 1828, it was 112,409; in (832, it was 176,277; and in 1836, it was 244,208.

Which is respectfully laid before the General Assembly.

They also find among the papers referred to them, an account in favor of said McAlexander, audited and allowed by John T. Ryland, Judge of the circuit court of that county, for the amount claimed in the bill. And believing the claim will come within the perview of the thirtieth section of an act entitled,

"An act to regulate the fees of the several officers of this State, approved February the 19th, 1835."

The committee recommend the passage of the bill.
