ANTRIM COUNTY.

In the matter of the change of boundaries of the townships of Milton and Torch Lake.

Resolved, That all that portion of the township of Milton, in the county of Antrim, lying north of the north lines of sections twentytwo (22), twenty-three (23) and twenty-four (24) of town number thirty (30) north, of range nine (9) west, and the north line of section nineteen (19) of town thirty (30) north, range eight (8) west, be and the same is hereby detached from the said township of Milton, and attached to the said township of Torch Lake, in said county, in accordance with the said application. And that the boundary line between the said townships of Milton and Torch Lake shall be, and the same is hereby established as the said north line of said sections 22, 23, 24 of town 30 north, range 9 west, and the north line of section nineteen (19) of town number thirty (30) north, range eight (8) west.

Resolved, That the change herein made in the boundaries of said townships of Milton and Torch Lake shall take effect March 15th, 1909. Dated Thursday, October 15th, 1908.

I, James Deevy, clerk of the circuit court, and clerk of the board of supervisors of Antrim county, Mich., do hereby certify that I have compared the above copy of resolution adopted by the board of supervisors of said county, with the original record now remaining in the office of the county clerk of said county, and have found the same to be a correct transcript therefrom, and the whole of such original resolution.

CLARE COUNTY.

In the matter of the organization of the township of Freeman.

Harrison, Michigan, October 12th, A. D., 1908.

Pursuant to law, the board of supervisors of Clare county, Michigan, convened at the circuit court room at the court house in the city of Harrison, in said county, on Monday, the twelfth day of October, A. D. 1908, at 11:30 o'clock, a. m.

Board called to order by the chairman, Arthur Long.

Roll called. Members present, Messrs. Benner, Cook, Davis, Doty, Fry, Gleason, Hoover, Jackson, Leonard, Long, Maltby, Thompson and Ward-Total 13. Members absent, Messrs. Browne, Bond, Haven, Merchant, Myers, Ross, Scrimger, Sly and Wright-Total 9.

Mr. Jackson moved that the board now adjourn until 1 o'clock, p. m. for dinner. Which motion prevailed.

One o'clock, p. m. Board again called to order by the chairman. Roll called. Members present, Messrs. Benner, Browne, Cook, Davis, Doty, Fry, Gleason, Haven, Hoover, Jackson, Leonard, Long, Maltby, Merchant, Myers, Ross, Scrimger, Sly, Thompson, Ward and Wright-Total 21. Member absent, Mr. Bond-Total 1.

The petition of resident freeholders of the township of Lincoln, including both township eighteen north, range five west and town eighteen north, range six west, praying that that part of said township designated as township eighteen north, range six west, be set off and organized into a new township to be known as the township of Freeman, was then submitted to the board, same being read to the board by the county clerk; proof of publication of notice of such petition and of the posting thereof, being attached to said petition and made a part thereof; also including a map showing the proposed new township.

Mr. Jackson moved that said petition for the organization of the new township of Freeman be laid upon the table until 3 o'clock this afternoon for inspection. Which motion prevailed.

The time having arrived for the consideration of the matter of setting off the new township of Freeman and for the consideration of the petition heretofore submitted to the board, viz.: 3 o'clock p. m., Mr. Jackson moved that said petition be taken from the table. Which motion prevailed.

Said petition now being before the board, Mr. Jackson moved that the prayer contained in said petition be granted and that said township eighteen north, range six west be set off and organized into a new township and named the township of Freeman, as prayed for in said petition. The said motion made by Mr. Jackson being before the board, all persons interested in said proceedings were given an opportunity to be heard thereupon, and after hearing those who wished to be heard upon the said matter, the said motion was put upon its passage, and the same prevailed, by yeas and nays, as follows:

Yeas, Messrs. Benner, Bond, Browne, Cook, Davis, Doty, Fry, Gleason,

Haven, Hoover, Jackson, Leonard, Long, Maltby, Merchant, Myers, Scrimger, Sly, Thompson, Ward and Wright-Total 21.

Nays, None (0).

Thereupon, Mr. Bond moved that the board do now adjourn until tomorrow, at 8 o'clock a. m. Which motion prevailed. (Signed) ARTHUR LONG,

Pursuant to adjournment, the board of supervisors of Clare county, Michigan, convened at the circuit court room at the court house in the city of Harrison, in said county, on Friday, the sixteenth day of October, A. D., 1908, and was called to order by the chairman, Arthur Long.

Roll called. Members present, Messrs. Benner, Bond, Browne, Cook, Davis, Doty, Fry, Gleason, Hoover, Jackson, Leonard, Long, Maltby, Merchant, Myers, Scrimger, Sly, Thompson and Ward-Total 19. Members absent, Messrs. Haven, Ross and Wright-Total 3.

Messrs. Haven and Wright entered and took their seats.

1 o'clock p. m. After a recess for dinner, the board was again called to order by the chairman, Arthur Long, at 1 o'clock p. m. Quorum present.

Mr. Ross entered and took his seat.

Mr. Cook offered the following resolution, and moved its adoption.

Harrison, October 16, 1908.

Resolved, That the first township meeting of the township of Freeman organized by this board and comprising the territory included in township 18 N., R. 6 W. and which was taken from the township of Lincoln, shall be held on the 20th day of November, 1908, at the Old Sutton Store Building at Windover Lake in said township of Freeman, and that Daniel W. Holland, Merrit W. Finch and A. J. Carpenter, electors of said township of Freeman are hereby appointed to preside at such meeting, appoint a clerk, open and keep the polls, and who shall have the same powers as inspectors of elections at township meeting.

And be it further resolved, That the township of Lincoln, comprising all the territory included in town 18 N., R. 5 West, shall hold their first township meeting after the organization of Freeman township from territory taken from such Lincoln township, at the Old Postoffice Building at Lake George in Lincoln township.

Which resolution prevailed.

Morrissey, clerk of said county of Clare, and clerk of the circuit court for said county, and clerk of the board of supervisors thereof, do hereby certify that I have compared the above and foregoing copy of action and proceedings of the board of supervisors of said county of Clare, relative to the organization of the new township of Freeman, in said county, as appears in Supervisors' Record No. 4 on pages 514, 515, 526 and 527, of said county of Clare, with the original record thereof, now remaining in my office, and that it is a true and correct transcript therefrom, and of the whole of such original record. DICKINSON COUNTY.

WEST BRANCH TOWNSHIP.

In the matter of the application of certain freeholders of the townships of Breen and Felch, in the county of Dickinson, for the organization of a new township.

WHEREAS, An application has been duly made to the board of supervisors of the county of Dickinson, by F. E. Farley, Arthur Quaid, H. M. Stevenson, Hugh A. Campbell, John Johnson, R. W. Pierce, Jr., S. J. Peterson, Thos. Bouchard, Sam Doran, Chas. Pocan, G. W. Moll, Henry Raether and Andrew J. T. Anderson, all of whom are freeholders of and reside in the township of Breen, in said county, and Hugh A. Campbell, Richard Hammersville, Daniel Crowley, Otto Hintz, Carl A. Carlson, John Edberg, Andrew Rian, John E. Wickman, Angus A. McDonald, John J. Ovist, Andrew Willman, Swan Henderson and Chas. J. A. Forell, all of whom are freeholders of and reside in the township of Felch, in said county, for the erection and organization into a new township of the territory hereinafter described; and the said board having been furnished with a map of said townships of Breen and Felch, which are to be affected thereby; and it appearing to said board by due proof that notice in writing of such intended application, signed by all of the aforesaid resident freeholders of said townships of Breen and Felch, was duly posted and published in the manner and during the time required by law; and it also appearing to said board, upon consideration thereof, that the said application ought to be granted; Thereupon it is ordered and determined by said board of supervisors, That territory described as follows, to-wit: Township forty-three (43)

north, of range twenty-seven (27) west, and township forty-four (44) north, of range twenty-seven (27) west, now embraced in said township of Breen, and section one (1), two (2), three (3), ten (10), eleven (11), twelve (12), thirteen (13), fourteen (14), fifteen (15), twentytwo (22), twenty-three (23), twenty-four (24), twenty-five (25), twentysix (26), twenty-seven (27), thirty-four (34), thirty-five (35) and thirtysix (36), in township forty-three (43) north, of range twenty-eight (28) west, in said county, and sections one (1), two (2), three (3), ten (10), eleven (11), twelve (12), thirteen (13), fourteen (14), fifteen (15), twenty-two (22), twenty-three (23), twenty-four (24), twenty-five (25), twenty-six (26), twenty-seven (27), thirty-four (34), thirty-five (35) and thirty-six (36), in township forty-four (44) north, of range twentyeight (28) west, now embraced in said township of Felch, be and the same is hereby erected and organized into a new township, to be called and known as the township of West Branch; that the first annual township meeting therein shall be held at the place of residence of Hugh A. Campbell, at Ralph, in said township of West Branch, on Monday, the 16th day of November, A. D. 1908, and Franklin E. Farley, Henry A. Bauman, Hugh A. Campbell and Arthur Quaide, four electors of such township, are hereby designated as the persons whose duty it shall be to preside at said meeting, open and close the polls and to exercise the same powers as the inspectors of any township meeting may exercise under the laws of this State.

Adopted by yeas and nays, two-thirds of all the members elected voting therefor, to-wit:

Yeas, supervisors Alvar, Baxter, Brown, Cundy, Davidson, Flanagan, Forell, Franck, Johnson, LeBlanc, Linn, McGregor, Thompson-(13). Nays, none.

John E. Quarnstrom, clerk of said county, and of the board of supervisors thereof, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct transcript carefully compared by me, from the original record of the proceedings of the board of supervisors of said county on the 19th day of October, in the year 1908, upon the application of F: E. Farley and others, for the erection and organization of the new township of West Branch, now remaining in my office, and of the whole of such original record. And I further certify that the annexed is a true and correct copy of the map presented to said board on the said application.
