peculiar to FISH in general.

Of the Water-Carriage on the River Thames, to the feveral
Parts of the Kingdom; with a Lift of the Keys, Wharfs, and Docks,
adjoining to the fame.

To which are added,

RULES, ORDERS, and ORDINANCES, made in Pursuance of an
Act of Parliament paffed in the 30th of Geo. II. For the more effectual
Preservation and Improvement of the Spawn and Fry of Fish, and for the
better Regulating the Fishery thereof.

MY LORD,

S the Confervacy of the River Thames is peculiar to that High Office in which Your Lordship is fo worthily diftinguished, I humbly prefent the following Sheets to Your Lordship.

And the rather, as the Subject-Matter is of fuch Importance to this City, whofe Honour Your Lordship fo confpicuously supports, and whose Intereft You have so much at Heart.

The Publication was fome Time fince intended, but deferred on Account of fome depending

depending Regulations for the well-governing this noble River: Which Regulations, to the Honour of this City, through the Affiduity of its worthy Magiftrates, were happily effected Anno 1757: An Event of great Utility to the Publick, and no lefs advantageous to the Fishermen.

The following Defcription was begun by a Gentleman, who had many Years the Honour to ferve this City in a Station, which gave him the greatest Opportunities of being perfectly acquainted with the Subjects; and as he has been pleased, out of Kindness, to indulge me with the Presentation hereof, I humbly offer them to the Publick, whofe Attention will of Course follow Your Lordship's Patronage; which will be efteemed the greatest Honour
