HEREAS under the provisions of an Act, passed in the late session of Parliament, intituled "An Act to provide for the consideration. "of an Ordinance, which has been laid before < Parliament, in a report of the Oxford University "Commissioners," Her Majesty has been pleased, by Her Orders in Council of the 9th June and 23rd November, 1860, to refer, for the consideraation and advice of a Committee of five Members of Her Privy Council, an ordinance, framed by the Oxford University Commissioners, in relation to the College of St. John the Baptist, in the University of Oxford, and several petitions in favour of and against that Ordinance: Notice is hereby given, that the said ordinance, and the report relating to it from the said Commissioners, the objections of the governing members of the said College, and the above mentioned petitions in relation thereto, will be taken into consideration by the Committee of the Lords of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council to whom the matter has been referred, in the Council Chamber, Whitehall, on Wednesday the 23rd of January next, at eleven o'clock. The Queen has been pleased to appoint Sir Henry Wellwood Moncreiff, Bart., D.D., to be Secretary to Her Majesty's sole and only Master Printers in Scotland, in the room of Doctor James Robertson, deceased. St. James's Palace, January 1, 1861. Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge has been pleased to appoint Captain William Purey Cust to be one of Her Royal Highness's Equerries. (2056.) Board of Trade, Whitehall, The Right Honourable the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade have received, from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, a copy of a Despatch from Her Majesty's Consul at Naples, enclosing a translation of a notice published in the official journal of that city on the 10th instant, providing that merchants importing wheat and other cereals for warehousing shall enjoy the following privileges: 1. Facilities for hiring warehouses. 2. The right of re-exporting the said grain to other Italian ports, or to foreign countries. The ports at present authorized to have such warehouses are Naples, Castellamare, Paolo, Pizzo, Cotrone, Taranto, Brindisi, and Pescara. |
