Ald. Race presented the following order, which was, on motion, duly passed:

In order to afford temporary relief to the numerous victims of railroad accidents, the State Legislation Committee is hereby directed to frame a draft of a law to be presented to the Legislature of this state compelling all railroad companies to maintain in each passenger car and in the way car or caboose of all freight rains operating in this state an emer

gency medicine case filled with such medicines, bandages, implements, etc., as are necessary in the first assistance to the injured.

The Board of Local Improvements submitted the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE

Repealing an ordinance for cement sidewalks on a system of streets, as follows: On the south side of West Superior street, from North Franklin avenue to 80 feet east of North Franklin avenue, and on the east side of North Franklin avenue, from West Superior street to 130 feet south of West Superior street, in the City of Chicago, County of Cook and State of Illinois. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Chicago:

SECTION 1. That the ordinance entitle I "An ordinance for cement sidewalks on a system of streets, as follows: On the south side of West Superior street, from North Franklin avenue to 80 feet east of North Franklin avenue, and on the east side of North Franklin avenue, from West Superior street to 130 feet south of West Superior street," passed May 28th, 1906, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. That the attorney for the Board of Local Improvements, be and he is hereby ordered to dismiss the petition in said case under Docket 31395 of the County Court of said county.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in force from and after its passage.

Bennett, presented the report of the Committee on Finance, on communications from the Commissioner of Public Works, City Prosecuting Attorney and the Board of Local Improvements, for employment of additional help, and salaries, deferred and published December 17, 1906, page 2353.

Ald. Bennett moved to concur in the report and pass the order therewith relating to the salary of W. J. Craig, as per recommendation of Commissioner of Public Works.
