HERE is no branch of the External Evidences of the genuineness of the Sacred Scriptures more important than that which is derived from the Manners and Customs of the countries which are referred to by the Inspired Writers. Happily for the student, this is also a most interesting and profitable department for his investigations, as it brings the contents of God's Word into relation with all the histories of the past and all the discoveries of recent times.

In the hope that he might make a small contribution to this section of English Education, the author has prepared this volume on The Trades and Industrial Occupations of the Bible. It has been condensed into the smallest compass compatible
