"An act to incorporate the Jefferson city Wharf Company." Was read and ordered to a second reading.

Was taken up and passed.

On motion of Mr. Monroe,

Resolved, If the Senate concur therein, that the two Houses, will this day, at the hour of three o'clock, P. M. elect a Commissioner of the Permanent Seat of Government, and for that purpose will meet in the Representative Hall.

On motion of Mr. Wilkerson,

The bill from the Senate, entitled an act to regulate the Inspection of Tobacco, was taken up, read a third time, and amended by striking out "one inspector," and inserting "three inspectors."

And the bill as amended, then passed.

On motion of Mr. Speaker,

The Committee on Enrolled Bills were authorised to require all the clerks, not otherwise engaged, to enroll bills until the end of the session.
