Soon after starting Ohio took the lead, and kept it till the turn, when she was passed by Laundry Maid, Conspiracy lying third, and Mendicant, Osprey, and Mowerina approaching to the front ; about two distances from home Ohio was beaten, Mendicant took the lead, followed by Laundry Maid, Conspiracy, Osprey, and Mowerina, and they continued in this order to the end of the race, which was won easily by two lengths, the same distance dividing the second and third. Osprey was a bad fourth.
