Vice-Consul went off in front; after running about 100 yards Isis, took the lead, with Galata f. and Vice-Consul next; at the bushes Reminiscence took the second place; half way down the hill Vice-Consul passed Reminiscence, but could not reach Isis, who won cleverly by a length; about three quarters of a length between the second and third.

Mount Callan went off in front; after running about 200 yards Glory took the lead, closely followed by Best Bower; at the turn of the Lands Glory was beaten; Best Bower went on with the running, and Mount Callan took the second place; the remainder of the race was between these two, Best Bower winning by a length.

Tug-net made the running at a good pace, followed by Footstool, the other two lying off; just before reaching the Duke's Stand Tug-net declined, and Footstool took the lead, with Joy next; about the distance Sting passed Joy, and half way up the distance went to the front, obtained the lead after a few strides, and won by half a length; about a length and a half between the second and third.

Humdrum made the running at a steady pace, the other two lying off about three lengths; after passing the Duke's Stand Radulphus attempted to get up, but could not reach Humdrum; Mount Callan came about half way in the distance, and, after a good race in, won by half a length; the same distance between the second and third.

Black Cat made the running to half way in the cords, where Vice-Consul went up and defeated her rather cleverly by a neck.

6 to 5 on Missed Stays. They ran together over the new ground; Paragone then took the lead, and won easily by a length.

The Rutland Stakes of 30 sov. each, 20 ft. for two yrs old colts, 8st. 7lb. and fillies, 8st. 3lb. the winner of the July or Chesterfield stakes to carry 7b. extra; all other winners previously to the day of running to carry 3lb. extra; from the turn of the Lands in (12 subscribers).
