4 Reels Evans' Boar's Head Cotton, No. 10. Steel Crochet Hook, No. 16. De means Double Crochet.

1st Row. Make a chain of 9 stitches, unite the ends and work under the chain which means into the circular space, 3 long, 3 chain, 3 long, 3 chain, 3 long, 3 chain, 3 long, 3 chain, crochet into the 1st stitch of the 1st 3 long, draw the cotton to the back, tie it securely and neatly, this must be done at the end of every row; in working the 1st stitch of the 1st 3 long it will be better to make 3 chain, and call it one long.

2nd Row.-Work 3 long under the 3 chain, 3 chain, 3 long under the same chain, 3 chain, repeat.

3rd Row.-3 long under the 3 chain at the corner, 5 chain, 3 long under the same chain, 3 chain, 3 long under the next 3 chain, 3 chain, repeat.

4th Row.-3 long under the 5 chain, 5 chain, 3 long under the same chain, 3 chain, 3 long under the next 3 chain, 3 chain, 3 long under the next 3 chain, 3 chain, repeat.

5th Row.-3 long under the 5 chain, 5 chain, 3 long under the same chain, 3 chain,* 3 long under the 3 chain, 3 chain, repeat from,* 3 twice more, then repeat from beginning.

6th Row.-4 long under the 5 chain, 4 chain, 4 long under the same chain, 3 chain,* 4 long under the 3 chain, 3 chain, repeat from,* 3 times more, then repeat from beginning.

7th Row.-Same as last row only repeating 4 times more instead of 3.

8th Row.-Same as last row only repeating 5 times instead of 4.
