The Street Committee presented the following Report on the Communication from the Counsel of the Board, on the subject of widening Gold-street, which was adopted, and directed to be sent to the Board of Assistants for

concurrence.

The Street Committee of the Board of Aldermen to whom was referred the annexed communication from the Counsel of the Board, informing the Common Council that the Supreme Court had confirmed the report of the Commissioners in the matter of widening Gold-street from Fulton to Frankfort-street, and asking the Common Council to determine when the actual opening of said street shall take place, and to appoint a Collector to collect the Assessment-

BEG LEAVE TO REPORT:

The season being so far advanced your Committee are of

opinion that it will best comport with the interests of the parties concerned that the widening of Gold-street be postponed until the 1st of May next, and as no objections to that time have been made, your Committee recommend for adop tion the following Resolution:

Resolved, That the actually carrying into effect the order of the Supreme Court for widening Gold-street from Fultonstreet to Frankfort-street be postponed until the first day of May, 1836, on which day it shall take place, allowing twenty days thereafter for the removal of all obstructions therefrom, and that Jeremiah Green be appointed to collect the Assessment.

The subscriber respectfully informs the Common Council that the Report of the Commissioners of Estimate and Assessment in the matter of widening Gold-street from Fulton street to Frankfort-street, was confirmed by the Supreme Court on the ninth day of October instant.

It remains for the Common Council to appoint a Collector. of the Assessment in the above matter, and to determine whether the actual widening of the street shall be suspended for any period not exceeding fifteen months from the date of the confirmation of the report of the Commissioners.
