In the passage of which, as thus amended, the Senate has concurred by a majority vote of all the Senators elect, and has ordered the same to take immediate effect by a two-thirds vote of all the Senators elect.

Which has passed the Senate, and in which the concurrence of the House is respectfully asked.

The House concurred in the adoption of the resolution. Mr. Miles moved that the House adjourn until to-morrow morning at 8 o'clock;

Mr. Romeyn offered the following:

Resolved, That the thanks of this House be and are hereby tendered to the Speaker, for the fairness and impartiality with which he has discharged the duties of his office during the present extra session of the Legislature;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Horton offered the following:

Resolved, That the thanks of this House are hereby tendered to N. B. Jones, Clerk, for the efficient and able manner that he has performed the duties of his office during the present session of the Legislature;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stockbridge moved that the House adjourn until tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock;

Which motion was withdrawn.

Mr. Cogshall offered the following:

Resolved, That the Clerk of the House be directed to mail to the officers and members of the House, the journal for the remainder of the session;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Sanford moved that the House adjourn until to-morrow morning at 9 o'clock;

Which motion did not prevail.

Mr. Riford moved that the House adjourn until to-morrow morning at 7 o'clock;

Which motion did not prevail.

Mr. Harris moved that leave of absence be granted to all members who desired to take the early morning trains.

MESSAGE FROM THE GOVERNOR.

The Speaker announced the following:

To the House of Representatives :

I have this day approved, signed, and deposited in the office of the Secretary of State,

An act to provide for the payment of the officers and members of the Legislature, for the extra session of the year 1870; Also,

Concurrent resolution authorizing Secretary of State to forward one copy of all laws and resolutions passed; also the journals and documents to each member and officer of the Legislature.

The hour of 12 o'clock noon having arrived, and no further business appearing to be transacted, the Speaker declared the House adjourned sine die.
