ΤΟ

THE FOUR VOLUMES.

IT is necessary to apprize the Reader that in the Progress of printing this Work some of the Acts. there referred to, especially those relating to the Navigation Laws, have been repealed or modified by the S Geo. 4. c. 42, 43, 44, and 45, and other Acts; and as it is impracticable in a Work of this Magnitude to state every Enactment or Decision existing at the Time it is published, the Author proposes to publish annually an Appendix or concise Statement of the Enactments and Decisions in the preceding Year, so as to continue the practical Utility of the Work. The Author cannot refrain from acknowledging the valuable Assistance of his Son, Mr. THOMAS CHITTY, in preparing the Third and Fourth Volumes for Publication.

28th November 1823.
