COLDEN'S

Liquid Beef Tonic.

ORIGINAL LABEL:

"Colden's Licbig's Liquid Extract of Beef and Tonic Invigorator."

An Invaluable Aid in Medical Practice.

[ocr errors]

Differs Essentially from all other Beef Tonics.

(OLDEN'S Liquid Beef Tonic is endorsed by scores of physicians, who are growing to realize more and more its importance in repairing, in accordance with the principles of dietetics, the waste which disease entails. It consists of the extract of Beef (by Baron Liebig's process) spirit rendered noninjurious to the most delicate stomach by extraction of the Fusel Oil, soluble Citrate of Iron, Cinchona, Gentian, and other bitter tonics. An official analysis of this preparation by the eminent Chemist, ARTHUR HILL HASSALL, M. D., F. R. S., and an endorsement by the late SIR ERASMUS WILSON, F. R. S., are printed on the label of each bottle.

As a nutrient, and a reliable tonic in all cases of debility and weakness, Malarial Fever, Anæmia, Chlorosis, Incipient Consumption, etc., it is the best preparation ever used. It acts directly on the sentient Gastric Nerves, stimulating the follicles to secretion, and gives to weakened individuals that first prerequisite to improvement an appetite. It strengthens the nervous system when unstrung by disease, and has been employed with remarkable success as a remedy for Drunkenness and the Opium Habit.

it.

Its Range of Action Embraces all Cases of Debility.

In order that physicians may form some idea of the nature of its ingredients, I will upon application in person, or by letter (enclosing a card, send a sample bottle of COLDEN'S LIQUID BEEF TONIC to any physician in regular standing, in the United States. Please ask your Dispensing Druggist (if he has not already a supply) to order In prescribing this preparation, physicians should be particular to mention COLDEN'S "-viz.: “Ext. carnis, fl. comp. (Colden's)." It is put up in pint bottles, and can be had of Wholesale and Retail Druggists generally throughout the United States. C. N. CRITTENTON, Sole Agent, 115 Fulton St. New-York. This apparatus is upon the plan of Potain's modification of Dieulafoy's Aspirator, with the following improvements and inventions of our own.

1. Means of changing pump from an exhaust to a force pump, and vice versa, enabing the operator to withdraw an abnormal fluid, and inject the cavity through the tubes and needle with one to induce healthy action.

2. Employment, in Apparatus No. 1, of a screw cap, fitting neck of receiver, that can not be forced or accidentally removed from its place while injecting.

3. Substitution for the oiled-silk valves in other apparatus, of a kind indestructible in form and material.

4. A simple attachment for evacuating the contents of the stomach, superior to any in use hitherlo.

No. 1. Sixteen-ounce receiver, three steel gold-plated needles, necessary tubes, etc. in neat case, with directions (postage 64 cents), $16 00.

No. 2. Same without receiver and with rubber stopper to fit any bottle of quart capacity, or less, in neat case (postage 32 cents). $14 00.

No. 3. Stomach attachment, adapted to pump accompanying Nos. 1 and 2, additional (postage 32 cents), $6 00. CAUTION.-Faulty and dangerous imitations of our Aspirators having appeared, we suggest the need of caution in purchasing.
