Dear Sir: I beg to report that on May 23d and 24th I had destroyed by burning 820 packages of soiled clothing found upon trains and stations of this company.

EPIDEMICS-DIPHTHERIA.

At Cedar Springs, Clinton County.

Dr. Benjamin Lee, Secretary:

Lock Haven, August 5, 1895.

My Dear Doctor: I find we have three cases of diphtheria at Cedar Springs, Clinton county, about six miles from this point. I also find that there have been cases of this disease all through Witney Valley for the last few months. The three cases mentioned above are all I know of at present.

Dr. Doctor: There is more or less diphtheria in and about Allentown at present. The Allentown board is doing everything in its power to check its progress.
