AN ACT to amend section one of chapter twelve of act number two hundred three of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred seventeen, entitled "An act to provide for the holding of elections, to prescribe the manner of conducting and to regulate elections, to prevent fraud and deception in the conducting of elections and to guard against abuses of the elective franchise."

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. Section one of chapter twelve of act number two hundred three of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred seventeen, entitled "An act to provide for the holding of elections, to prescribe the manner of conducting and to regulate elections, to prevent fraud and deception in the conducting of elections and to guard against abuses of the elective franchise," is hereby amended to read as follows:

SEC. 1. For the purposes of this act the term "absent voter" shall be taken to mean any qualified elector, who is absent or who expects to be absent from the township or ward in which he resides, on the day of any election or official primary election, and who is

(1) A person in the actual service of the United States, or of this State, or

(2) A student, while in attendance at any institution of learning, or

(3) A regularly enrolled member of any citizens' military or naval training camp, held under the government of the United States or the State of Michigan, or

(4) A member of the legislature while in attendance at any session of the legislature, or

(5) A commercial traveler, or

(6) A person employed upon or in the operation of railroad trains in this State, or

(7)

A sailor engaged or employed on the great lakes or in coastwise trade, or

(8) Any person necessarily absent while engaged in the pursuit of lawful business, or

(9) Any person, who, on account of physical disability, is unable, without another's assistance, to attend the polls. The term "commercial traveler" shall be taken to mean a person engaged in soliciting the sale of goods, by the exhibition of samples, or by catalogue or other device, for the purpose of effecting such sales and taking orders for goods to be subsequently shipped by his employer. AN ACT to amend section one of act number thirty-three of the Public Acts of eighteen hundred eighty one, entitled "An act to provide for the publication of monthly crop and stock reports," being section five thousand six hundred twenty-nine of the Compiled Laws of nineteen hundred fifteen.

The People of the State of Michigan enact:

SECTION 1. Section one of act number thirty-three of the Public Acts of eighteen hundred eighty-one, entitled “An act to provide for the publication of monthly crop and stock reports," being section five thousand six hundred twenty-nine of the Compiled Laws of nineteen hundred fifteen, is hereby amended to read as follows:

SEC. 1. The Secretary of State shall each year obtain monthly statements as to the condition of live stock, condition and prospects of the growing crops, and as soon after the of crops, etc. harvest as possible, statements as to the yield of wheat and

And the said Secretary of State shall prepare a monthly abstract of the information thus obtained and shall insert therein the number of townships from which reports have been received, and shall publish a sufficient number of copies of the same to furnish one copy to each newspaper published in this State, one copy to each member of the legislature, one copy to each correspondent furnishing information for said abstract, and one thousand copies for general distribution. The Secretary of State may enter into cooperative arrangements with the department of secretary of agriculture of the United States department of agriculture for the joint compilation and publication of crop and live stock reports, including those enumerated in this section.

Act number two hundred six, Public Acts of Act repealed. nineteen hundred nine, entitled "An act authorizing women to vote in certain cases," being compilers' sections three thousand eight hundred sixty-four, three thousand eight hundred sixty-five, three thousand eight hundred sixty-six and three thousand eight hundred sixty-seven of the Compiled Laws of nineteen hundred fifteen, is hereby repealed. AN ACT to amend section three of act number two hundred thirty-six of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred fifteen, entitled "An act to protect fish in the inland waters of this State, and to regulate the manner of taking, possession, transportation, size and sale of fish when taken from said waters, to provide penalties for the violation of this act, and to repeal all acts and parts of acts conflicting therewith," the same being section seven thousand six hundred fifty-six of the Compiled Laws of nineteen hundred fifteen as amended by act number three hundred forty-five of the Public Acts of nineteen hundred seventeen.
