AND be it further enacted by the Application of Authority aforefaid, That the feveral Fish imported Rates and Duties which fhall be charged from Scotland. by virtue of this Act, upon Fifh brought from Scotland, or the lflands thereunto belonging, into England, Wales, or Berwick upon Tweed, as aforefaid, fhall be levied, charged, brought in, applied, iffued, and difpofed of to the fame Purpofes, and in the fame Proportions, as the Duties upon Salt and Rock-Salt, and the Duties upon Red Herrings and White Herrings, are levied, charged, brought in, applied, iffued, and difpofed of, by virtue of any Act or Acts of Parliament now in Force.

Counterfeit- 14. AND be it further enacted, That ing, &c. any if any Perfon or Perfons do prefume to counterfeit, rafe, or alter, any Certificate or Cocquet by this Act directed to be made; or shall use any fuch Certificate or Cocquet knowing the fame to be so counterfeited, rafed, or altered, fuch Perfon or Perfons fhall incur the Pains which are by Law inflicted on Perfons found guilty of Forgery.

15. AND be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Action or Suit fhall be commenced against any Perfon or Perfons for any Thing done in purfuance of this Act, the Defendant or Defendants in any fuch Action or Suit General Iffue. may plead the general Iffue, and give this Act, and the Special Matter, in Evidence, at any Trial to be had thereupon, and that the fame was done in pursuance and by the Authority of this Act: And if it fhall appear fo to have been done, the Jury fhall find for the Defendant or Defendants; and if the Plaintiff or Plaintiffs fhall be non-fuited, or difcontinue his or their Actions, after the Defendant or Defendants fhall have appeared, or if Judgement fhall be given upon any Verdict or Demurrer against the Plaintiff, the Defendant or Defendants Treble Cofts. fhall and may recover Treble Cofts, and have the like Remedy for the fame as any Defendant or Defendants have in other Cafes by Law.
